Prayer Catcher

“Prayer Catcher” is a device installed in religious spaces to identify and collect prayers that individuals whisper in mosques and holy shrines, focusing on those that mention themes of love and eroticism. When such prayers are detected, a cup of water is donated to the mosque for communal use, whether for drinking or for ablution (Wudu).

This creates a dynamic where the water used in the mosque may be perceived as "desire-donated," potentially influencing individuals' choices regarding its use. The project explores themes of eroticism as political power, the dynamics of control and counter-rebellion, and the juxtaposition of religious practices with elements traditionally kept separate.
